True Story

This is an almost exact quote from me to my wife the day after the 2000 elections:

"You know, it's one thing that we are surrounded by people with no respect for government. It's another thing completely when those people are running the government. God help us."

Maybe if I wasn't so wise, I wouldn't be so goddamned depressed.

I just read your blog for the first time today, and was going through older posts and happened upon this...what I should comment on in your post regarding your childhood. I will carry that quote in my head forever.

My parents were very functional heroin ADDICTS until I was 19 years old. They do not apologize and maintain they were good parents. My two younger sisters and I were provided for with basic needs. No signs of abuse or neglect ever noted. When I began to rebel against their behavior, employed, own apartment, and still attending high school. I was the bad seed. Oh, the story goes on and on, and still goes on today, I am now 37. I wish to write about it someday, if only for my own peace.

I know too much. It makes me sad.

  2. I hope you do write it someday, and I'd love to read it. Take care of yourself.
